Dear beloved friends and community members,

After our online break following the election, inauguration, and new year, we're reaching out to acknowledge that this is an incredibly difficult time for our community. We understand that each of us is finding different ways to cope with the current challenges, and we want you to know that every way of coping is valid.

Some of us are focusing on self-care first - and rightfully so. As the saying goes, we cannot extend to others what we do not first provide to ourselves. Others are finding solace in books, exploring safer worlds within pages where we can exist freely and authentically. Many are finding comfort in the unconditional love and care our pets provide, including our beloved Honeybee, whose playful spirit and calming presence brings laughter, safety, and a sense of peace into our daily lives.

Whatever your method of coping, remember this: we need each other now more than ever. This is a time for community. Queer people have always existed and will continue to exist, regardless of who holds political power. Our existence is not up for debate, and our community's strength lies in our unity.

At Rainbows and Reflections, we remain committed to ensuring that banned books continue to save lives in 2025. We are actively developing strategies to get books into the hands of those who need them most during these challenging times.
